MyKella Mitchell serves as the Manager of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Outreach, Events & Communication for the Department of Physics at Princeton. Their key responsibilities include developing and implementing EDI initiatives in collaboration with the EDI Advisory Board; coordinating events; leading department-wide outreach and communication efforts; mentoring and supporting emerging professionals, students, and physicists; and continuously cultivating a welcoming culture within the department. They represent the Department of Physics on various committees and community leader meetings, including EDI developments and initiatives, research communication, and outreach efforts. Outside of work, MyKella enjoys watching the Philadelphia Phillies, exploring new culinary delights in Philadelphia, and dispelling misconceptions about locals' cheesesteak favorites being Pats and Genos.
