Bio/Description

Lawrence Cheuk is assistant professor in the Department of Physics at Princeton University. He received his Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2017. He did his postdoctoral research at Harvard University, and received a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Quantum Science from the Max Planck/Harvard Research Center for Quantum Optics in 2017. His research interests include quantum science with ultracold and laser-cooled molecules and has technical expertise in direct laser cooling, optical trapping, and high-fidelity detection of molecules. He received the Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigators Program Award in 2023, the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from The International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers in 2023, the Sloan Fellowship in 2022, and the Martin Deutsch Award for Excellence in Experimental Physics from MIT in 2013. He is a committee member of the American Physics Society (APS) Division of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (DAMOP) Program Committee.
