Katerina Visnjic wins Science Communication Contest

Sept. 17, 2021

Katerina Visnjic (senior lecturer in physics) won the 1st prize in a science communication contest hosted by the hugely popular Veritasium YouTube channel (>10 Million subscribers).

The challenge was to create a 1-minute video explaining a counterintuitive phenomenon in science. The contest sparked a flurry of thousands of video submissions from all around the world. Visnjic, in collaboration with Lance Herrington of the McGraw Center, won first place with their video on the barrel-bursting experiment that Blaise Pascal is commonly thought to have conducted (but probably never did).
