The integer and fractional quantum Hall effects (IQHE and FQHE) are canonical examples of 2D topological phases. Being incompressible liquid in the bulk, available low-energy propagating excitations are only at the edge: gapless chiral edge channels. The excitations therein are electrons in the IQHEs and fractional quasiparticles in the FQHEs. Various collective phenomenon can emerge when interactions take place between coexisting multiple edge channels. For example, upstream (anti-chiral) neutral edge modes in hole-conjugate FQHEs (p+½<ν
