The team was comprised of physicists, physics educators, and sociologists who took a multi-faceted view of the issues surrounding the student experience. Out of this two-year long study comes the report titled “The Time is Now: Systemic Changes to Increase African Americans with Bachelor’s Degrees in Physics and Astronomy”. This presentation will describe some of the most salient features that emerged from the study with a specific emphasis on factors related to mentoring.
