Date May 23, 2013, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Location Jadwin A07 Share on X Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn Details Event Description Abstract In this talk I will describe the recent results of a search for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) with the silicon detectors of the CDMS II experiment. A blind analysis of 140.2 kg-days of data revealed three WIMP-candidate events with an expected total background of 0.7 events. This data is consistent with a light WIMP interpretation, with a mass of 8.6 GeV/c2 and WIMP-nucleon cross section of 1.9x10-41 cm2. I will also discuss upcoming analyses that will investigate the origin of this signal. http://science.mit.edu/news/3q-enectali-figueroa-feliciano-possible-hin…
