Abstract:  The MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR is an array of high purity germanium detectors searching for the neutrinoless double-beta decay of Ge-76. The array is currently operating within a low background shield at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, SD. I will present recent results from the first dataset collected with the DEMONSTRATOR that show unprecedented energy resolution and very low background rates, resulting in a lower limit on the neutrinoless double-beta decay half-life of 1.9E25 years.
