In anticipation of the next generation of gravitational wave experiments, I will discuss the opportunities for phenomenological studies of particle physics in the Early Universe. The focus of the talk will be on first order phase transitions and how they can help us address open problems such as the generation of the matter/anti-matter asymmetry, the strong CP-problem, and the nature of the dark sector. I will discuss several such examples and their merit, and comment on complementarity with other experiments.
