Abstract: 

I will present the proof of a conjectured relation between the energy-momentum tensor and the displacement norm of superconformal defects. I will discuss implications  for the definition of an  invariant tension in Anti-de Sitter  gravity, and for the radiation-reaction problem for moving charges.
