Gravity Group Lunch Seminar, Justin Ripley (Princeton) "Black holes and modified gravity"

Fri, May 18, 2018, 12:00 pm
102 Jadwin Hall

We motivate the study of modified gravity theories and the role these modifications may play in addressing open questions about the formation and structure of black holes.

We discuss theoretical challenges in studying modified gravity theories and outline current work on a numerical study of gravitational collapse and black hole formation with a modified a gravity theory, Einstein-dilaton-Gauss-Bonnet gravity.

Salads, sandwiches, and wraps are catered by D'Angelo Italian Market.
Bottled water will be provided.
