Event Description

A convergent summation formula for the DC Hall number of strongly correlated and disordered metals is derived from the Kubo formula. Properties of Bogoliubov operator Hilbert space are used for the derivation [1]. The Hall number (remarkably) generally depends solely on equilibrium thermodynamic susceptibilities, which are amenable to well controlled approximations and numerical algorithms. In a separate study, the Hall conductivity of layered superconductors in the flux flow regime, is shown to contain a contribution from the vortex charge [2].
