Properties of Bogoliubov operator Hilbert space are used for the derivation [1]. The Hall number (remarkably) generally depends solely on equilibrium thermodynamic susceptibilities, which are amenable to well controlled approximations and numerical algorithms. In a separate study, the Hall conductivity of layered superconductors in the flux flow regime, is shown to contain a contribution from the vortex charge [2]. [1] A.
