Our group seeks to provide support, mentorship, and career development opportunities to its members. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people. We believe in supporting the many intersections of our members’ identities, such as (but not limited to) race, sexual orientation, gender expression, socioeconomic class, and immigrant/indigenous status. We hold events throughout the year including lunches with our members, social hours with an invited speaker, and ice cream in Palmer Square. We regularly invite women from associated departments to join us (e.g., CPBF, Astro, Plasma). We also hold events for the undergraduate TICUP group (e.g., workshops on applying to graduate school). Some recent outreach efforts include participation in APS CU*iP (formerly CUWiP).
