Women In Physics

About Us:

The Princeton Women in Physics Group consists of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty in the Princeton Physics Department. Our group seeks to provide support, mentorship, and career development opportunities to its members. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people.  We believe in supporting the many intersections of our members’ identities, such as (but not limited to) race, sexual orientation, gender expression, socioeconomic class, and immigrant/indigenous status.

Every two weeks we hold lunches that often feature an invited professor or other guest speaker. We regularly invite women from associated departments to join us. We also hold events for the the Undergraduate Women in Physics group (e.g. workshops on applying to graduate school). Some recent outreach efforts include organizing a 2017 APS CUWiP (Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics) at Princeton and participating in the 2019 APS CUWiP at TCNJ.
